1. Be your own boss

As a self-employed consultant solicitor working within a national consultancy law firm infrastructure, you’re in charge of your own destiny. Build your practice with full regulatory, PI insurance and back-office support, but leave the day-to-day law firm management to us allowing you to focus 100% on your clients.

2. Benefit from the best secretarial and administrative – all without charge

As a consultant lawyer, you’re not working alone. You’re part of a dynamic, national team with an unrivalled depth of central support resources available including highly-skilled secretarial and administrative support, all provided free of charge.

3. Work where you choose

Our finance, IT and case management platforms can be accessed from anywhere with an internet connection. Whether you want to use one of our national network of 10 offices, work from home, hybrid or more remotely, the choice is yours. As a consultant lawyer, you can work when and where you want to.

4. Earn fairer financial reward for the work you bring in

In traditional practice, the law firm gets the vast majority of the revenue you bring in – in consultancy it’s the reverse. Our revenue share model offers much fairer rewards for the work you bring in and manage, as well as any business you refer within the firm.

5. Choose your clients and your fee structure

As a consultant lawyer, you are in charge of the relationship with your clients and the fee structure you set. There are no central policies or billing targets. You choose the clients you want to work with and how you wish to support them. You choose your hourly billing rate or a fixed fee rate if you prefer. You choose if you wish to work pro-bono.

6. Work with a like-minded and collegiate team

Working as a consultant lawyer with more than 130+ partner colleagues, and a support team of more than 25, you will work within a collegiate and like-minded team, who share your values of excellent client service. Our business model is focused on the happiness of our lawyers and we’re all about developing relationships across practice areas, regions and teams.

7. No billing targets, management meetings or internal politics

The higher you progress within traditional practice, you more you can become weighed down with day to day law firm life. We’ve re-engineered our law firm so that you can say goodbye to targets, management meetings, politics and the glass ceiling. We offer equality of opportunity for experienced and ambitious lawyers and the headspace to focus on what you do best – looking after your clients.

8. Enjoy the benefits of a national, free to use office network

We have modern offices in 10 locations including London, Birmingham, Stoke-on-Trent, Manchester, Liverpool, Chester and Leeds providing plenty of opportunity to meet with colleagues, arrange client meetings or work as a team. There is no charge to use any of our offices either for permanent working or hot-desking and most of them have dedicated on-site support from our Excello 360 secretarial and admin team.

9. Build your practice with marketing and business development support

We provide a range of services to help you with your marketing and business development including website profile, digital services, PR programmes, bespoke collateral, stationery, social media templates, events, sponsorship and more from an experienced team who are totally engaged with helping you build your practice to achieve success.
